In 1919, Kingsdown Mine initiated operations on part of the Great Hewas Mine, focusing on four east-west striking lodes situated southwest of the Wheal Elizabeth section. The Kingsdown operation lasted until 1926, during which it reportedly produced around 24 tons of black tin per month. Traces of this mining activity can still be observed near grid reference SW967501.
