From the Mining Journal May 28, 1853:

The above mines are situated in the parish of Amlwch, adjoining the celebrated Paris and Mona mines, and within two miles of the smelt works and shipping port of Amlwch.
The proposed Amlwch and Valley Railway will pass through the sett. The sett is extensive, extending over a surface of 300 acres of mineral land, and the lodes are traceable crossing the sett, east and west, and are visible alspin several places leading to the Parys Mine, where they take from 30 to 40 tons of copper weekly the very same lode alone.
The old company have sunk a shaft of 15 fms. on the lode, but owing to the heavy rains in the winter months, and not having machinery erected to pump the water, they were obliged to suspend the work for a time. The lode in this shaft is 30 inches wide, composed of killas, quartz and prian, interspersed with spots of yellow ore, altogether a very promising lode, and is of the same formation as in the adjoining shaft on the Parys Mine, and it cannot be doubted but after sinking the shaft to the depth of 30 or 40 fms, an abundance of copper will be found.
The late proprietors have agreed to take shares in the mines for the full amount of their interest—viz. £200. 900 shares have been taken
Application for the remaining shares to be made to the secretary.
