Small operation opened in the 1870s and closed around 1910. It primarily supplied slate slabs to the Aberystwyth enamelling industry, which used over 1,500 tons yearly at its peak around the turn of the 20th century. Initially, the mill used water power to operate its saws, planer, and lathe but later switched to steam power. In 1889, the quarry produced 319 tons of slate. Finished slate was transported across the River Melindwr to a loading point for carts.
