Mainly lost to quarrying.

The area south of Bryn Mawr has been heavily mined for lead over an extended period and more recently quarried for chert. The main mine sett and larger 19th-century shafts have been lost due to quarrying. However, an area of shafts and mounds still remains around the now disused quarry to the west of Henblas (SJ 1920 7310). Tracks leading uphill connect to a line of shafts located between two quarry areas. The Mining Journal of 28/8/1858 mentions a 45-inch pumping engine and two 33ft x 5ft boilers that were for sale, highlighting the scale of operations in the area. Aerial photographs also show several shafts large enough to have supported whim platforms.
