Tiny underground working located 800’ above Cwm Croesor .*
Short adit remains open. A tiny dressing area survives, which includes a double shed with a fireplace and a small stock of slates. Approximately 20 feet below this area, a substantial platform appears to have served as a stocking and loading point. The original zigzag path is still traceable, though it is now heavily eroded. Near the valley floor, close to ruined agricultural buildings, lies a large block thought to be the lower ropeway anchorage. At Deufaen, the unfinished formation—possibly an incline or slideway—survives with a sizeable loading platform at its foot
Transport of material likely relied on workers carrying it down a steep path. During the early 1870s, a crude ropeway was introduced as the operation developed
