The small copper mine, situated at the base of Caradon Hill south of Kittow’s Shaft of South Caradon Mine, is identified by a large overgrown burrow between two fields east of Higher Tretharrup hamlet. It reportedly exploited eight east-west trending lodes within killas formations overlying the Bodmin Moor granite. However, many of these lodes were insignificant stringers or minor branches. Despite some ore extraction, the mine was never financially successful, and there are no recorded production figures available.
