On site of Park Level Mine.
- 1980 - Killhope Wheel facing demolition. Durham County Council takes over site and starts restoration programme.
- 1984 - Mineshop opened to the public
- 1991 - Killhope Wheel restored to working order
- 1996 - Mine opened to the public
Mine for tour is ‘artificial’ mine in excavated chamber, with fibreclass cast walls taken from the nearby Nenthead district.
