Located on both sides of a bend in the River Tees, where it meets Trout Beck. They extracted ore from the Hardshins and Troutbeck Foot veins using the Hardshins Level (with a provided grid reference) and the Troutbeck Level (located at NY73053323) respectively. Over the course of its operation, the mine produced a total of 1455 tons of lead concentrates. Despite extensive dumps remaining in the area and the discovery of many fragments of vividly colored fluorite crystals along the track from the South Tyne valley, no specimens of high quality were found on the dumps as of March 2008. Furthermore, there seemed to be no remaining access to the underground workings.
