Large red sandstone quarry which since the 1920s has become quite overgrown apart from the areas directly used by Land Rover. There are some climbing routes though these aren’t officially sanctioned by the Hotel owners

Sandstone extracted for the exterior building of Peckforton Castle and it’s associated structures. The castle was designed and built in a true gothic medieval style for John Tollemarche as his family home. The house is now a hotel/wedding venue and the surrounding woodland private apart from a single public footpath and a short permissive path which allows access to a restored dovecote.
